Our Rail Services Team specialises in lineside fencing and arboricultural operations, including comprehensive tree and vegetation management, to support the maintenance, development, and transformation of the railway infrastructure in the UK.
Fencing
We supply and install all types of railway fencing, including high-security steel palisade fencing to deter vandalism and trespassing, Clipex fencing, and post and wire fencing to prevent livestock incursion. We also provide wildlife fencing to support protected species mitigation schemes.
Types of Fencing
- Class IA/I – Steel and GRP non-conductive palisade and mesh panel security fencing, with optional enhanced security attachments.
- Class II – Weldmesh, chain link and acoustic boundary fencing.
- Class III – Pre and post clipped system metal fencing, timber post and wire/rail fencing.
- Wildlife exclusion fencing.
We can also provide gates and other security features for any fencing installation.
Fencing Case Studies
North Electric Rail Line – Class 1 Palisade Fencing
Erection of fencing for a secure compound between the rail track and a public street in Yoker, Glasgow. Ground investigation and preparation work were carried out before the erection of 2.4m Class 1 galvanised fencing, complete with a 6m double-leaf gate, providing access to the site from the roadside.
Mallaig Rail Line – Clipex Fencing
Vegetation removal and erection of 200m of Clipex rail fence near Banavie, Fort William. Ground investigation and preparation work carried out to facilitate the erection of Clipex fencing on lineside between a rail overbridge and the existing close boarded fence. Site cleared of old fence material and securely fixed to adjacent fencing.

Vegetation Removal
We provide comprehensive tree and vegetation site clearance services for rail environments. Our specialised fleet includes Robo-cut machines capable of handling everything from long grasses and heather to heavy gorse and bracken. All staff are fully trained and competent in working at height, chainsaw operations, and ground-based vegetation management, including brush cutting, strimming, and the application of herbicides.
